Dreamweaver project

The purpose of this project was to show the ability to create a web site with Dreamweaver. We were given the specs of a fictional catering establishment called, "Prairie Catering". We were to include a history page and provide links to a menu page and an order request page. The menu items (with info and pricing) were provided as well.

For my site i decided on a prairie flower for the background of the caterers title bar. The text in this bar was created in Photoshop. The background is a tiled image of wheat, adjusted in Photoshop. The background images for the menu item tables were adjusted in Photoshop as well.

I provided anchor tags on the home page and the menu page for easier navigation. These were created with text in Dreamweaver. The navigation buttons were created in Flash MX.

This project was assigned to test our ability to use Flash effectively as a web site development tool. The information given to us was for a fictional community theatre. We were required to create the entire "welcome" page in Flash, providing a "skip intro" button, and to automatically go to "page 2".

The second page was to be an "about us" page and the third page was to provide information on current season plays. these pages were required to have an animated .gif for the title bar and navigational buttons to go between them.

The welcome page was , of course, created in Flash. I decided to try to integrate the introduction Flash movie into the animated title bar on the following pages. This required some work in Photoshop and precise positioning. (Unfortunately, the end result varies per browser/screen resolution.)

I used alternating image/text alignment on the last two pages. On the third page, i provided anchor tags for easier navigation within the page.
